Celebrity Monday - Tippi Hedren

No, I didn't know her name, but I knew one of her most famous actress roles. You may be able to recognize too, by looking at this picture:

If you said the movie "The Birds" you got it!
yes! She's best know for her holes in the Alfred Hitchcock movies.

Nathalie Kay "Tippi" Hedren (born January 19, 1930) is an American actress and former fashion model. She is widely known for her roles in the Alfred Hitchcock films The Birds and Marnie (in which she played the title role), and her efforts in animal rescue at Shambala Preserve, an 80-acre (320,000 m2) wildlife habitat which she founded in 1983. - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tippi_Hedren

I'm not a big fan of horror movies, but I have watched a couple of it on TV and, let's face it, they are classics! you got watch it!

In the year of 2008, the same year this doll was released, was the 45th Anniversary of the movie, "The Birds". Mattel created the doll to commemorate this classic made by Alfred Hitchcock.

I liked the doll a lot! Melanie, the girl in the movie is supposed to be a socialite, explaining her pretty and classy outfit.

The doll is not really a true "copy" of Melanie, her face is almost a classic barbie face, with some expression on it, but the outfit as the perfect reproduction.

She's a black label barbie doll.

Did you like it? What do you think?

Have a great week all!!!

  1. I wish I had this doll and purchased this when it just came out. Now that the biography movie of Hitchcock is out, this doll would be sought after by Barbie collectors. Tippi Hedren still looks wonderful after all these years. Her daughter, Melanie Griffith (bears some resemblance to Tippi), am not too sure after all of the work done on her face. If Tippi had any work done, she looks more natural.

    1. Hi Acerico, I agree with you. as much she's a very nice, she does not have any Tipi's physical appearance. I think Mattel really created the doll based in the movie, not really the actress/character.
      Thanks for stopping by :-)

  6. The doll outfit and the crows and pose is perfect, but I don't think the lara mold fits tippi. I knew her and I've seen both Marnie and The Birds, they are both in my DVD collection!
