Vintage Wednesday - 1964 Vintage Brunette Swirl Ponytail Barbie Doll #850

I found this doll on eBay(pictures are from eBay)and I had to share here...she's in a great condition as there are no green marks on her ears or anywhere to be found on the skin and the colors looks so vibrate that I wonder how this doll has been stored, I'm impressed to see a doll in a good condition like this considering she's from 1964!
The dress is not the original one, the one in the picture is actually from a fashion Barbie set called Barbie fun and games (#1619)

Her hair was not redone, it contains the original hair lace as well.

Eyes and lips with original paint.

I wish I could put my hands on one like this...
Happy Wednesday to all!

Vintage Wednesday - ROMAN HOLIDAY OUTFIT #968 1959

According to Fashion Doll Guide, this was one of the three outfits made for Barbie dolls back on 1959 (I didn't know that - One of the reasons I do the Vintage Wednesday as i can search and learn more about it). The original set contained:

    1 - A dress
    2 - A white Belt
    3 - A striped coat
    4 - A hat
    5 - A necklace
    6 - White gloves
    7 - A Clutch Purse
    8 - A hanky
    9 - A pink Comb
    10 - Black Shoes
    11 - Glasses case
    12 - Compact
    13 - Black glasses - Not showed

It must be rare to find in a good condition as it's a over 50 years item, but you may be able to get the pieces separately on auctions, just be patience, some items are  tiny and easy to lose so they may be very hard to find. I was not able to find any complete set on eBay. Also, I saw an auction selling the set with a regular high heels black shoe, the original is an open toe, so it's nice when you know what you are selling/buying as I didn't see any indication in the auction saying it was not part of the set at all, just give a hands up...in case you are looking for things like this.

    Pictures are from eBay.

Hope you all are having a great week!

Vintage Wednesday - Barbie in Switzerland #822 Outfit - 1964

As a result of the Barbies I have been trying to bring back to life I was looking for some outfits on eBay, because some of them are naked. I was browsing around, but didn't find anything that I could afford, in instead I may go to target or Walmart, even dollar store to try to find very cheap stuff. Anyways, This post is not about the "beauties" that need to be dressed, but about a vintage outfit I didn't know about it and I ended up finding on eBay, coincidentally.

I couldn't find any pictures online of the product in the packing, but some auctions on eBay (some of the pictures here are from auctions on eBay - I do not have these items).

The set is called  "Barbie in Switzerland" and includes a dress, a green felt corset as a belt, a white eyelet bonnet, a bouquet, a white open toe shoes and a travel pamphlet(not pictured), It's from 1964.

    Vintage Wednesday - OOAK(One of a Kind)

I like to see how some people can sew (handmade) little pieces of clothes and how "real" they look, I think it's because I can't do it, despite the fact that I used to make my own Barbie's clothes when I was a kid, well I tried, didn't mean they looked right...I wonder how I never made in the fashion industry!LOL. Anyways, I got some actions on Ebay of some "vintage outfits" made by good tailors. so, of course, people are bidding!

These are from 2010rocksbarbie seller: As stated in the auction, dolls are not included just the outfit, great for those who love dioramas.

The next ones are from mesissy auctions:

Of course, there are a lot more on Ebay. These were the ones I would bid for sure...
And, also I just want to make clear. I don't know these sellers and I'm not doing any type  of advertisement here, I'm just sharing my "finds".
Have a great Wednesday you all!

    Vintage Wednesday - Vintage Barbie Ballerina #989 (1961 - 1965)

This set was available in stores from 1961 to 1965. Includes a
Silver Lame Tutu with layers of white tulle and hidden fabric flowers, back metal zipper
    Black stretch Leotard Black stretch
Tights White Ballet Slippers with white satiny ties
Pink satin Ballet Bag and ties
    Silver Paper Tiara
    Nutcracker card stock Program

According to fashion doll guide it's a easy to find item. I guess it makes the price of the product cheaper, great for people who (like me!) has little money to invest in a collector's item and loves accessorize the pretty doll.

I liked the packing, but not too impressed with the colors of the box, the blue contrast of the booklet would look prettier on a light pick background i guess, just my opinion.

Hope you all are having a great week!

    Vintage Wednesday - 1960 Yellow Skipper's Case

As a Barbie collector as far as I can remember I was never interested on these Barbie's case. There are people who actually collect them as there are so many variation and colors. Today I'll show a yellow Skipper doll case. This a good example as I don't think they hold very well, unless the person who owns one is very, very careful person, as a vintage item I would be very surprise to find one of these in a good condition. I say that because my husband got one of these, except it was not Barbie's, but a Teenage Ninja the Turtle case, the material is pretty much the same. It's made of some kind of "cheap" plastic and cardboard, it's so fragile that you think it will break when you hold it.

It is a nice vintage item when you like and have the space to store. Personally, I don't think I would get one.

     Anyways, happy Wednesday to all!
