Vintage Wednesday - Club Meeting #1672 (1966 - 1967)

The title of the post is about "the club meeting outfit" from 1966-1967, but on 1965 the "same" outfit had been out as "the fashion editor outfit" with not only the same exactly outfit, but a hat and photo camera on the set.
I should had post this one in instead as for me, seems "more" complete, but I didn't really like the name for it, I would prefer the 1965 one with the second outfit name. If you take the camera off, that's it for the fashion editor role outfit, so, it could very well be done.

The 1966/1967 outfit only had the blue jacket, a dress and the shoes on it. For some reason, they decided to remove the hat. In my opinion, a cute accessory to the outfit, specially back on that time, when that kind of hat was a fashion piece.

Then, in 2007 a reproduction of this outfit was released on Sleepytime Gal Barbie Doll:

Celebrity Monday - Reese Witherspoon as Elle Woods (Legally Blonde)

Before I watched the legally blond movie, I didn't know who Reese Witherspoon was. She had done such a great job on that movie that it got "stuck" on my mind - I know there are a lot people who don't like this movie, but everybody needs a laugh sometimes. She was cute and spectacular at the same time! - I can't even believe has been over 10 years!!
Reese Witherspoon had won Hollywood with this movie as it was the one that got her  REALLY going on her actress career.

2001 marked her career's turning point with the breakout role as Elle Woods in the box office hit Legally Blonde, and in 2002 she starred in Sweet Home Alabama, which became her biggest commercial film success to date. 2003 saw her return as lead actress and executive producer of Legally Blonde 2:  - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reese_Witherspoon

The film stars Reese Witherspoon a sorority girl who struggles to win back her ex-boyfriend by earning a law degree, along with Luke Wilson as a young attorney she meets during her studies, Matthew Davis as the ex-boyfriend, Selma Blair as his new fiancée, Victor Garber and Holland Taylor as law professors, Jennifer Coolidge as a manicurist, and Ali Larter as a fitness instructor accused of murder. - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legally_Blonde

Been talent, beautiful and successfully as a actress and producer gave her not only fame, but also a Barbie Doll for the legally Blonde 2 movie . Mattel released on 2003 a Barbie doll designer by Sharon Zuckerman:

Barbie captures Elle's style from a pivotal scene in the movie when Elle takes her cause to Congress. Mimicking the original design by the film's costume designer, Sophie de Rakoff Carbonell, Barbie wears a crepe pink suit with a matching pillbox-style hat and strappy pink heels. She accessorizes with tiny pearl-esque earrings and a matching double strand pearl-esque necklace that are reminiscent of the Mikimoto necklace and earrings seen in the film. She "carries" with her a pink and white polka-dotted tote bag, along with her beloved Chihuahua, who "wears" a matching pink suit. The finishing touch to her politico power suit is her "staff" badge, which she clips to the front of her suit jacket.

The doll is really cute as represent very well the cutesy and sweetness of the character.

Hope everyone have a great week!

Makeup by Friday - Empress of the Aliens Barbie Doll

Yes, I admit...I think I tried too hard this time...I was trying "hard" to make this one close as possible, but then I realized that it was too advanced for me and so the results are bellow - Since was Halloween week, I decided to go ahead and post it, anyways.

I used a blue contact lenses from the time I dressed up as She-ha back in June - ComicCon-PA - and as I didn't have very black long eyelashes, I used these purple feathers ones I had. I didn't have the gold glitter either, that I could had used in the eyebrows :-( maybe I put everything together, next time, that way I can see what I don't have.

As I said before, I'm not a professional makeup artist, I just enjoy doing it, that was the best par: I had fun!!!

This time the chosen one was Empress of the Aliens Barbie Doll - for more on this Barbie: http://barbiecafe.blogspot.com/2012/05/cominng-soon-empress-of-aliens-barbie.html

And, the results:

For more - How I did it?

Feedback are welcome :-)
Hope you all have a great weekend!

Stephen Burrows Pazette Barbie Doll

One of the things that lock my eyes to a doll is the "richness" of detail on it. I like to stop and analyze the face features, the makeup, the materials used, accessories and anything very well made. This doll was one like that, she has a good amount of different material on her clothes, and her makeup? can't love enough...and the white look so lovely on her dark skin, for me, it was very well made! - and, I haven't see her in real life :-(

She's a direct exclusive from Barbie Collector.com, was designer by Linda Kyaw
, is a gold label and was released on August of 2012.

A flash of feathers, a sprinkling of sequins, and daring design elevate one stylish woman to fashion icon status. Inspired by the dazzling world of a retro showgirl, she makes a show-stopping entrance that wows any audience—from the catwalk to the stage and beyond!
Stephen Burrows Pazette Barbie doll, created by the renowned designer, wears an extraordinary ensemble that stuns with silvery glitter, rhinestones, and sequins. Vintage Wednesday - 1962 After Five Outfit

This "chic" Vintage outfit cut my eyes, as not only the dress, but  the hat and shoes does a big number in the look.

According to fashiondollguide.com is a item easy to find in good condition as the fabric "holds up over time very well", for me it looks like a thick fabric.

picture from http://www.etsy.com/listing/100457828/vintage-barbie-after-five-5-black-white

I found this picture on Etsy, the outfit was sold separate, but I though would be nice to place a picture of the whole outfit.

Inside the package was included a navy dress with button in the chest, a white hat and a pair of a black high heels shoes.

Cute!
