Coming Soon - Tribal Beauty Barbie Doll - Direct Exclusive

Seems like this year of 2013, we'll have nothing but Glamour. To open the Global Glamour Collection, this doll is the first of more to come - Can't wait to see the other ones, didn't you see so many (very nice) details and colors?

The first doll in the Global Glamour Collection shows her exotic side wearing an intricate ensemble featuring a feathered midriff top, golden breastplate adornment, waist-attached bead fringe, earrings, bangles, long split skirt and elaborate headpiece. Her zebra scepter pays tribute to the royal splendor of Africa and her status as a reigning queen of fashion. - http://www.barbiecollector.com/shop/doll/tribal-beauty-barbie-doll-x8262
Linda Kyaw did such a great job on this gold label beauty. I have friends from Africa and the little I know about this culture I can see a lot of it on this doll, she's is so rich in color and details than I have no words to describe the amount of richness put in one doll. Very nice!!

Release date is February 14th, 2013

Vintage Wednesday - 1960 Yellow Skipper's Case

As a Barbie collector as far as I can remember I was never interested on these Barbie's case. There are people who actually collect them as there are so many variation and colors. Today I'll show a yellow Skipper doll case. This a good example as I don't think they hold very well, unless the person who owns one is very, very careful person, as a vintage item I would be very surprise to find one of these in a good condition. I say that because my husband got one of these, except it was not Barbie's, but a Teenage Ninja the Turtle case, the material is pretty much the same. It's made of some kind of "cheap" plastic and cardboard, it's so fragile that you think it will break when you hold it.

It is a nice vintage item when you like and have the space to store. Personally, I don't think I would get one.

 Anyways, happy Wednesday to all!

Coming Soon - Luncheon Ensemble Barbie Doll

This year, Robert expands upon the “Atelier” theme for the BFMC, starting with Luncheon Ensemble Barbie Doll. She’s a lady about town, savoring the first breaths of Spring and opening herself to a fresh blush of color. Going out for an afternoon bite with her friends, she chooses an elegant taffeta ensemble with a classic shape, and a pink floral print. The fitted knee-length dress and puffed-sleeve swing coat are beautifully accessorized with pointed pumps and gloves. Bows at the shoulders and a rosette embellishment on the lovely turban complete the chic couture creation.

This is the first silkstone doll, from a total of six, from the Barbie Fashion Model Collection in 2013 (two of them are exclusive for the fan club members)

As mentioned before, she's a Robert Best creation. I can't denied her face is stunning and everything macht perfectly the glamour on the doll. The only detail I didn't like was the way the sleeves is, this big "balloon" thing, just seems a little weird to me, and the position of the rose on the hat, I think if it was on the side, it would look more feminine, just my opinion...

Release date on Valentine's day - 02.14.2013. It would be a great gift...and she's a gold label

Hope everyone are having a great week!

Makeup by Friday - Wearable Barbie makeup

Today I decided to do some day makeup. I didn't really like the eyes, I should have used a regular eyeliner, not a liquid one, it would give a softer look. Anyways, I decided to post it as I'm still learning, that way i record my "home work".

I tried to do something like this...

Here is the result:  haha, I just notice I put the lipstick at the opposite side :/

Wishing you all a great weekend!!!

Barbie Book by Jennie D'Amato - Barbie All Dolled up

Who's Jennie D'Amato? I didn't know her until I found this book - It was so cheap than I couldn't pass it -  at TjMax, a store where you find thinks than you don't expect, like this book?

She's a freelancer writer living in New York City. The book was a celebration of the 50 years of the doll. It shows how fashionable and pretty and girly Barbie is. It has a lot interesting information since the beginning (1959) to the present (meaning 2009 - published year)

I took some pictures to share here: (I would love to have taken more but I don't even know if it's OK as there are copy writing involved here...)
