Kelly Roberts - Barbie's Sister

Kelly first appearance ever was in 1991 with Todd, as I had mentioned before at Midge's wedding to be a flower girl, but as Barbie's sister was only in 1995, in the toy dealers 1995 Mattel Catalogue she was the "baby" of the family (replaced latter in 1999, for Krissy Roberts). She supposed to be in kinder garden age, around 4 years old, Measuring 4 ½ inches tall, She had a full head of glossy platinum blond hair, an established trademark of Barbie dolls of the time. Her facial features were screened in a fresh and simple manner, reflective of the real life toddlers she was modeled after. Adding to her charm and innocence was her "bottle-mouth" for inserting a bottle or pacifier, both of which came with the first Kelly. A fun addition to the "baby" theme was that her body was made to smell baby powder fresh! Kelly was no inanimate baby doll created to lie motionless in a crib. Rather she was articulated with jointed shoulders, hips, and head. This afforded many different toddler action poses. The New Baby Sister of Barbie came packaged with everything Kelly would need to become an instant fixture in Barbie's world: sleeper, diaper, hair ribbon, dress, tights, shoes, bed with movable rail and mobile, blanket, bottle, plate, spoon, jar, pacifier, rattle, toy bunny, comb, and brush.

In 1996 Barbie and Kelly are together at Halloween time to trick or treat!Barbie wears black knit pants, white long sleeve sweatshirt with a pumpkin on the front. Kelly is wearing a black jumpsuit with a orange Jack O Lantern Pumpkin over it, and her hat is the top of the pumpkin and have a cardboard Trick or Treat bag in her hand. Special Edition item.

In 1997 Mattel releases Barbie and Kelly in a GAP outfit. Barbie wears a red GAP Hooded long sleeve Sweat Shirt w/GAP decal on front, a pair of Jeans, white Shoes, she has Sun Glasses in her hand. Kelly Doll is approx. 4.5" tall, with blond hair in braids, blue eyes. Kelly wears blue Jean Coveralls, a white and red horizontal stripe Top, red and white Sneakers with a red Hooded long sleeve Sweat Shirt (like Barbie's) with GAP decal in white on front and on the end of the arm, there's a GAP Price Tag. There's also a GAP Shopping Bag with a Cardboard Teddy Bear in it for Kelly Doll. This is a GAP Special Edition Gift Set.

They are back together in 1998 for Halloween. Barbie has a long straight blond hair, dressed in an orange leopard/cheetah costume trimmed in black fur, a black leotards sports her own matching cat ears hairband. Little Kelly has long red hair, she is dressed in a leopard/cheetah costume with white paws and tummy. She also wears her own matching cat ears and carries a paper trick or treat bag. A 1998 Special Edition Mattel Production.

Todd and Tutti - Barbie's Twin Brother and Sister

Well, I decided to talk about "Todd" before Stacie, because he came first, and also his history is a little more confusing. As previously mentioned, historically Todd came first; as Barbie's Brother, whom was released with a twin sister "Tutti", he was then re-released years later as Ken's brother, and then made another come back with a different twin sister called "Stacie"...
Todd's first introduction was in 1966. His first model appeared as Barbie's brother with a Twin sister called Tutti. They were supposed to be around 2-3 years old, their bodies were bendable and small as in the image of a child's. At this time Mattel also created a model as a brunette version sold in Europe between 1975 to 1980.

Later on, Todd made a come back to life. He was reintroduced in 1991 for the "Midge" line (Barbie's Friend) and made an appearance at "Alan's" wedding, as a ring bearer. At this time, he was supposed to be around 6-7 years old. He came in two versions, one with the "Kelly" doll, whom was the flower girl at the wedding, and the other in the "Wedding Party Midge" gift set which included six dolls total. Now, here's the real confusion... In 1991, Barbie Magazine, refered to Kelly as Barbie's little sister (eventually Kelly will become Barbie little sister, but not at this occasion) and to Todd as Ken's little brother, but Mattel never officially ratified that information... So... Who are they really related to at this occasion? Absolutely no one! Otherwise if this was the case, Tutti would have also attended the wedding!

Later on... between the years 1993 to 1995, Todd came back as Barbie's little brother, he was modeled just as the 1991 version, but also brought a "new" twin sister called Stacie. At this point "Tutti" is forgotten to Mattel and left out of the Barbie line.

So, in the end, Todd and Stacie are Barbie's twin little brother and sister (with Tutti being renamed Stacie.) In 2008 Mattel released Todd and Stacie in the Disney Mary Poppins "Barbie Collector Series."
