Celebrity Monday - Susan Lucci as Erica Kane

Susan Victoria Lucci was born on December 23, 1943, on New York. She's an American actress, television host, author and entrepreneur, her most famous role was for a daytime drama soap opera called "All my children", haired by ABC. for 41 years ( 1970 - 2011). she has a very extensive career
on film and television appearance. For more - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Susan_Lucci

Erica Kane, her character on "All my Children" was so popular on the soap opera history (wonder why she hold the role for so long?) that Mattel couldn't be out of "track" about it...

1998 Erica Kane Barbie Doll

This doll is a recreation  of Erica's look on the unforgettable Crystal ball episode when she makes her first public appearance back in the Pine Valley Society, just like in the show - (couldn't find any pictures from it...)

And, the following year another one.

1999 Erica Kane Wedding Barbie Doll

The dress on this doll is a recreation of the beautiful gown used by the actress on the shown.

I really liked the outfit in the bride one. Mattel did try to do a good job on the face, but for me she's a little off, I would rather have a "regular" Barbie mold head than a "Erica Kane" one. t least they have tried...

Hope you all have a great Week!

Makeup by Friday - Re doing it!

As I have mentioning in the past, I'm still learning (and I'll always be) and trying to improve my work on makeup. Based on this affirmation I decided, I think I mentioned this as well than I was redoing the last makeup by Friday one as I didn't like the result in the first place. Well, here is the "new" one... Sorry it's not very much like Barbie's, it's just a inspiration... Here, she's again...

And, me...

You may think there's no difference from last week, well, there's! I think I have done a much better job!Keeping the practice up!

Thanks for stopping by!! And have a great weekend!

Vintage Wednesday - Barbie in Switzerland #822 Outfit - 1964

As a result of the Barbies I have been trying to bring back to life I was looking for some outfits on eBay, because some of them are naked. I was browsing around, but didn't find anything that I could afford, in instead I may go to target or Walmart, even dollar store to try to find very cheap stuff. Anyways, This post is not about the "beauties" that need to be dressed, but about a vintage outfit I didn't know about it and I ended up finding on eBay, coincidentally.

I couldn't find any pictures online of the product in the packing, but some auctions on eBay (some of the pictures here are from auctions on eBay - I do not have these items).

The set is called  "Barbie in Switzerland" and includes a dress, a green felt corset as a belt, a white eyelet bonnet, a bouquet, a white open toe shoes and a travel pamphlet(not pictured), It's from 1964.

Halloween Barbie - Target Exclusive

I actually forgot about this lady, but yeah, Target, a department store, every year has her own Halloween version of Barbie. For 2013, she is a very simple girl, nothing really stand out, for me, if wasn't for the piece of black hair and the drawn on her shirt she would very well be just a "regular" doll. Target had got better ones in the past...Don't get me wrong, she's still cute. Oh well, it's just a department store doll! Not a direct exclusive!

 What do you think?

"Finds" from my shed!

This past week I was working on trying to organize my shed and I found a full box of Barbie dolls. I actually thought that this box were on my father-in-law's house as I store my dolls there - nope!!!There were just hanging there! I got it about two years ago from eBay and never had a chance to work on as I was working full time back then. How about now? Better later than never!
These are just some of them...

This poor girl is pretty messed up, she had her hair cut and i didn't show in the picture, but one of her legs was not attached, seems broken :-( I know nothing about restoring/fix dolls, but I'll do my best!)

So, I was able to identify most of them...I'll clean them, give some love and share with you guys.
First, I have to say it was very time consuming, I was able to find most of them on my Barbie's collector's book as they had clothes and accessories on, but some one them I will have to work harder!

I'm glad I have found them!
Hope you all have a great week!

Celebrity Monday - Elizabeth Montgomery as Samantha Stephens Barbie doll

Elizabeth Montgomery was a American actress, from Los Angeles, who played Samantha Stephens on Bewitched, an American fantasy comedy that aired for eight seasons on ABC, from1964 to 1972. She was a witch who, married to a mortal, do everything to live a regular housewife's life.

Her "real" life gave to her  four marriages and three children. She passed, at age 62, on may of 1995.

Legacy
 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elizabeth_Montgomery)

Here, one of the episodes, pretty funny...Well I like old shows...

To commemorates the 60's era, on 2005, a six foot tall statue was placed on Salem, Massachusetts - USA, about 2 hours from where I live. Not only the city is all about witches, but Salem was a scenario for a set of episodes of "Bewitched", after a fire on the Hollywood set.

Mattel showed her appreciation for the good TV American television on 2010 when released  the "Bewitched" Barbie Doll.
The doll wear the same outfit Samantha shows on the opening of the show. She also  brings a hat and a broom with her.

Well, hope you all have a great week!!

Makeup by Friday

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn–Part 2 Bella Doll

I have tried to do this one,I thought was easy, it should be,  but It seemed very hard, I didn't like the final result, I mean, I was trying to get close to this Barbie's look, but I don't thing I got closer at all, the first problem was, the eyeshadow I used for the dark color, as trying to use a dark brown, for some reason the color looked black(I should had started over, but I was in a hurry...sorry), I decided to post anyways as a learn point, so here is the result:

Here, with the red lipstick...

Well, I got a lot to learn!!!

Have a great weekend all!!
