Celebrity Monday - Elizabeth Taylor

I have been putting this post off for a long time...but as next november we'll have one more Elizabeth Taylor Barbie doll I think it's already time. To be honest I didn't know where to start, she is too much of responsibility...How can I put in words someone who I never met, heard about her as a kid as I have the same name as hers, but have such respect that it's impossible to present in one post the magnitude of women she was.

It wasn't easy for me to pick her pictures, not only because there are so many, but her beauty was so stunning that I couldn't be happy with my last choice as looking to the next one.

Oh well, on my simple word, let's start.

"Dame Elizabeth Rosemond "Liz" Taylor, DBE (February 27, 1932 – March 23, 2011) was a British-born American[2] actress. From her early years as a child star with MGM, she became one of the great screen actresses of Hollywood's Golden Age. As one of the world's most famous film stars, Taylor was recognized for her acting ability and for her glamorous lifestyle, beauty and distinctive eyes." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elizabeth_Taylor

Let's see the beauties?

The first one was released in 2000 in the Celebrity Collection:

2000 Elizabeth Taylor in Cleopatra

This doll was the first authorized portrait doll of the Academy Award-winning. She was called the most beautiful woman of the world and Mattel couldn't let it go making this stunning doll with a fantastic sculpt face in a exact violet shade for her eyes, fine glitter eyeshadow and a heavy eyeliner. A true replica of Elizabeth's 1963 Cleopatra performance.

2000 Elizabeth Taylor Father of the Bride Doll

Also from the Celebrity Collection, this doll was a recreation of the glamorous satin wedding gown she used in the 1950 Father of the Bride movie.

2000 - Elizabeth Taylor White Diamonds Barbie Doll

From Celebrity Collection as well, here the star wears her 1967 Academy Awards gown. This doll was a special promotion for Taylor's White Diamond perfum.

  1. I would love to add that Cleopatra to my collection. With Giant, and the Cat on a hot tin roof, it's one of my favourite Liz's films ever!
