Vintage Wednesday - 1959 BRUNETTE #1 BARBIE DOLL IN 1ST ISSUE ORIGINAL BOX

I copied and pasted the title of this post from an eBay auction when I saw it - it caught my eyes as I would most certainly like to put my hands on this one!

Pictures are taken from eBay as well.  In this auction's listing it said it was from a collector, they only had this Barbie up for auction, but they also had tons of old toys as well...

When I first saw the listing it had only 2h30m left with 48 people already bidding on it, the price was up to $1,998.87 and I wanted to see this one until the end of it...  So when I went back to look at it the final listing price went for US $3,801.01, with 59 bids.  Of course I didn't bid, I don't have this kind of money!  But, wouldn't it be nice...

The winner didn't do too bad either, according to this answer on http://wiki.answers.com:
A played-with #1 from 1959, no clothes, no box, no accessories, can probably fetch $5,000. A mint condition, complete, MIB doll is probably worth about $10,000.
Anyways, the auction said:
THE BRUNETTE IS THE RARER OF THE #1 BARBIES AS MORE BLONDES WERE MADE. SHE HAS THE TYPICAL MOSTLY PALE LOOK THAT #1 BARBIES HAVE WITH THE POINTED EYEBROWS, AND THE HOLES IN THE FEET WITH THE METAL LININGS. THIS BRUNETTE'S HAIR HAS NICE SHEEN AND SHAPE. THERE ARE NO MISSING PLUGS AND CUTS. THE PONYTAIL CURL IS TUCKED UNDER ON THIS DOLL. HER FACE HAS NICE ALL ORIGINAL MAKE-UP. SHE HAS NO CHEWS, NO NICKS, AND NO NECK SPLITS. THERE IS NO SIGN OF GREEN ON HER EARS. SHE HAS ALL OF HER ORIGINAL FINGER AND TOE NAIL POLISH. HER FEET DO SHOW SOME REDDISH STAIN WHERE THE SHOES GO. SHE HAS THE BARBIE LOGO ON THE BACKSIDE. ...... BARBIE COMES WITH HER ORIGINAL BLACK AND WHITE KNIT SWIMSUIT (NICE CONDITION), A PAIR OF BLACK SHOES WITH HOLES, AND THE FIRST ISSUE PINK FASHION BOOKLET (SHOWS A LITTLE WEAR). ...... THE BOX COVER HAS TWO SPLIT CORNERS, SLIGHT EDGEWEAR, PRICE TAG RESIDUE WITH SOME BROWNING . THE GRAPHICS ARE NICE. THE BOTTOM SHOWS ALL CORNERS INTACT WITH GENERAL WEAR.
I imagine you would definitely want to make sure the description and pictures are as accurate as possible as you may be able to complain or demand your money back if you are dissatisfied when you receive your item.  Especially on the vintage ones, as I had mentioned on a previous post, specifically look for things like the hair, face, painting, the greenish in the ears, etc., better if you can see it with your bare eyes other than in pictures alone...

So, here are the pictures I got from the listing...

  1. Hello from Spain: I do not want to spend much money on a Barbie is no box and not new. I find it too expensive. I like the Barbies in better shape. Keep in touch
