Celebrity Monday - Whitney Houston

Whitney Elizabeth Houston (August 9, 1963 – February 11, 2012) was an American singer, actress, producer, and model.

This is one of those times, when its sad to write about anything, but to simply allow a moment of unbridled compassion and grace for not just a fallen star, but a soaring star from the great vastness of space and time.

Whitney Houston had passed away, Saturday, and there was really nothing I could say...  Its one of those quiet times, where there was not the mind numbing, earth shattering void that encompasses the heart, and leads you to wear a dark shawl of morning... but at the same time... there dwelled a moment of sheer melancholy that rattles the brain, jolts the senses, if for but a single moment, still a lingering luster long enough for the heart to bleed where tears can not touch.

I enjoyed her songs, true, not a fan enough to buy all of her Cd's, create the Whitney Houston Cafe, and lead the U.S. chapter of her Fan Club... but I can not deny that her voice was a rare gift... breathtaking.  My first "time" with her was sitting in front of a TV, in Brazil, watching her performance in an "American"  movie...

It was a real pleasure to have "met" this woman in this manner... void of tabloid desecration, private matters concerning substance and family, and the crumbling of false pillars...  This was a true star, and I for one am lucky to have lived in an era to view such shimmering light.

As far as I know there is no such thing as a "Whitney Houston Barbie". In 1986 a Barbie called, "Jewel Secrets Whitney", friend of Barbie was released, and to this day, because the true diva had used a similar dress, often times people assume the doll and the star are one in the same.

I also found this on Wikipedia:   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Whitney_Houston_Barbie_I_Wanna_Dance_1.jpg - The original images are from here:

In closing, I watch a star and make a wish...  If not for me than for the ones whom really need it...  My heart falls to all of the people whom have been touched by this same tender light and may you find some comfort in the next painful day and the next... May you find the strength to remember the memory hidden by the heart and to always cherish that moment.

Take Care!
