Celebrity Monday - Hilary Duff

My first "contact" with this celebrity was with the Disney movies, which I love! So she was one those i liked to watch, she had a fresh face and for me, she was a great actress for those type of movies.

Of course, she grown up and became a beautiful woman. I didn't know but she also does do other type of "jobs", other that be an actress.

For a Hollywood young star she did great!! Never heard news about her been involved with drugs, DUI's or change too much partner. Well, good for her!

2006 - Red Carpet Glam Hilary Duff Doll

I just didn't get why the "so dressing" outfit - I understand that she supposed to be on Hollywood glam party - but I think made her look older, I don't know it's just me i guess...

Looks like 2006 was her year for Mattel!! as more dolls were released.

I usually take a look over the internet reading the news or - when i have some extra time (rare), I also look around browsing not so cultural "stuff -  Anyways, I found this very fresh article about two girls in United Kingdom who got to their prom night on a Barbie like box.

Now, the article, sadly wasn't too clear the reason why they did that, if was a way they had found to get people attention, as one of the girls mentioned:

"Suddenly everybody surrounded us and took photos, I came out of the box shaking, so many people were taking pictures,"

Or if they love Barbie so much that they didn't have a different way to show it...
 well, what's next?

Vintage Wednesday - Vintage 1959 Ponytail #1 Barbie Brunette

I think I had show this Barbie here in the past, not the same one, but the Barbie #3. Well, I decided to post it anyways as she's was in a really good condition  and went for US $6,499.99 on eBay, crazy to think that some people have money to buy an item as someone who buys a item at the grocery store...

As I mentioned she's in a really good shape! Just to show a good example of a well maintained vintage doll, without restoration.

This gorgeous doll has Brunette hair in it's original top knot set. She is not missing any hair plugs. Her top knot is nice and tight. Her bottom knot has a broken rubber elastic so it is loose but it still has a very nice curl at the bottom. Never cut! She has tight curly bangs. Now for the face. Gorgeous arched eyebrows, No green ear, no neck splits, Her lip color is missing a bit of color. Please see the photos. She has original hoop earrings, original black and white bathing suits. She has her proper holes in her feet. One has the copper tubing, the other doesn't. She is wearing black mule high heels with holes in the bottom marked Japan. She comes with her white sunglasses with blue lenses, sealed in plastic. Her original #1 stand with the two metal pegs marked Barbie T.M. by Mattel is in excellent condition, it has just a few small scuff marks, no cracks or chips. Her nail color is on all ten fingers. Some fingers have a little fading to the polish color. She has color on 9 of 10 toes. One big toe is missin a bit of color. Her feet have staining from her mules. Her body is an ivory white, except for her discoloration on her torso from her swimsuit which is very typical of #1's. Her right foot is marked Japan on the bottom. Her swimsuit fits great. Her body is very clean no chew marks or pin pricks, just a some minor surface dirt.

Celebrity Monday - Shakira

When I think "Shakira" I think Spanish and sexy songs. She's a good example of a beautiful Latin Woman. Tan and curvy body with long and curly hair.

Unfortunately throught the years she have changed quite a bit for a "Hollywood" type look...Well, that didn't change her talent.

This picture reminds me "Britney Spears" in the beginning of her career...

By the way Mattel also created a Britney Spears doll. Well, it will be a post in the future...

Anyways...This song was huge down in Brazil back in the 90's - The song that introduced the singer to the brazilian public. It's so clean in my mind...I love it!!

In 2002 Mattel created a "Shakira Doll" - 2002 International Superstar -  I don't think she was a Barbie Doll.
Nothing like a latin girl, this doll, for me, was nothing less that a Barbie likess doll. Not saying that I din't like the doll, but a better job could havee been done. If only she didn't became blondie...Don't really blema Mattel i guess.

2003 International Superstar  - 3 versions - I couln't find much info on them.
