Barbie's girl talk day: Make up fun with Barbie

Since it's Halloween i decided to play with make up a little bit...Sorry if it's not that great, I'm not a make up artistry, i never went to school for and i do it just for fun. When i received the last Barbie catalog last week something got to me about the Barbie doll in the cover, if I could have the same costume r as her on the catalog cover i would dress like it...as you can do almost anything around Halloween. I even remember, about two years ago, i went to Salem-Ma and i saw a guy "dressed" with a towel around his waist and a shower brush and cap, that was it!

Imagine doing the hair...
Well, since i can't do that, at least i'm going to try to have some fun from it. So, i decided to do a make up based on her make up, of course it's waaay far from look like hers, but i did have some fun doing it and it was the most important part of it!

Have a bless day!

I Dream of Autumn Barbie Doll

I found this Barbie doll while browsing in the barbie collector website. I don't know if was the colors of the picture, the fall felling, but when i saw it gave me such a peace, i felt hypnotized by it. I can't explained... (well, i can't explained how do i love a doll at this age either...)
It's a silver label and a toys R Us exclusive.

Designed by: Sharon Zuckerman
Release Date: 8/1/2006
Product Code: J3949

Each season reveals its unique gift in time. The fantasy of fall is the inspiration for this dark haired beauty wearing a charmeuse gown with petal layers in shades of autumn. Golden earrings and a soft, rust-colored, iridescent chiffon hair ornament complete the ensemble. Rich earth tones speak of autumn’s abundance and the glory of each season!

Vintage Wednesday - Lilli Doll - 1955 - 1964

Since this is the first post for "Vintage Wednesday" was thought would be good to remember where Barbie "Comes from". Is she German or American? Well Lilli was German, Barbie is American.
Lilli first appear as a cartoon in a German newspaper called Bild. She became so popular between adults, as she was a creation based in a curvy gal, who knew what she wanted and how to get it, that the publication began to manufacturing the doll and sell at news stands and cigarettes kiosks.
She was first sold in Germany in august 12, 1955. Her original was the same as Barbie's, rounded and the dolls foot has holes that fit on to a prong of metal. It was accompanied by a miniature copy of the Hamburg newspaper Bild-Zeitung and the cartoon continued to run in the real journal every Sunday.
Well, we all already know that Ruth Handler visiting German saw Lilli and bla, bla, bla...we have Barbie :-)
Mattel acquired the rights to Lilli in 1964, thus her production ceased.

Celebrity Monday - Scarlett O'hara - Gone with the Wind

(video from You tube - I found it and it show the romance side of it...)
If you haven't see "Gone with the Wind" Movie you are missing a great classic!I have watched this movie when i was about 12 years old for the first time and have watched for about 2 more times, every time i cry, it's such a beautiful romance (of course as a girl I looked into that), but there's also a great history about the America Civil War - Something that everyone should see, long, but worth it.
Well, as the first post for the "Celebrity Monday", i thought Barbie as Scarlett O'Hara would be a Oscar in the red carpet. There are 3 versions of the doll:

2001 - Scarlett O’Hara Doll On Peachtree Street - The Drapery Dress

 (picture from Barbiecollector.com)

2001 - Scarlett O’Hara Doll Barbecue at Twelve Oaks

(picture from barbiecollector.com)

1994 - Barbie Doll as Scarlett O’Hara (Red Dress)

And, of course:

2002 - Clark Gable as Rhett Butler - The Rescue from Atlanta
